Skannerz
  • How do you capture monsters?
    • To capture monsters for the Skannerz game you must start with the practice codes in the instructions. Three barcodes appear on the back of the instruction sheet corresponding to your controller.
    • Scan the first barcode from left to right and right to left quickly, make sure the scanning port is flat on the paper. Usually a little heartbeat will appear but you need to continue to scan the first barcode until a large heartbeat materializes.
    • In some cases the first barcode will produce two little heartbeats and a flatline until the code is scanned properly and the large heartbeat emerges. Also you may be scanning the wrong part of the code, scan right above the numbers, not the numbers themselves.
    • Once a large heartbeat appears and a monster is captured from the first barcode repeat these steps with the other barcodes.
  • What does the Pan button do?
    • The pan button is available so that the whole monster can be viewed
    • Go to monsters in the main menu and hit the "A" button. Once you can see the picture, of the monster, hit the Pan button and use the directional pad to move the monster's picture.
  • My unit seems to be stuck in battle mode and it keeps saying 1,2,3 then OK, but does not go into actual battle.
    • If the game appears to be locked in the battle mode, this means you have battled before and you did not heal your monsters after the battle. If the KO or the skull and cross bones are showing, the monsters were never healed. Whether they win or lose a battle, every monster must be healed before trying to scan another UPC code. We do not know what is in every UPC. It could be one of your monsters or an incompatible monster, so you will need to heal your monsters after every battle.
    • To get out of battle mode, reset the game, this will erase all of the monsters and items they have captured
    • To prevent this from happening in the future, be sure to heal your monsters after every battle.
    • Any Radica product barcode can be used to heal monsters or log onto www.skannerz.com.
  • My game keeps resetting on its own, what is the problem?
    • This is probably due to electrostatic charge, especially in cold weather.
    • Avoid touching the three metal prongs at the top of the unit.
  • How do I increase levels?
    • To move up a level, experience points need to be acquired.
    • These experience points can be acquired through battle. You have to receive thirty points to move up levels. Level 2- 31-61, Level 3- 61-90.
  • Can the same color Skannerz battle together?
    • No, the Skannerz must battle a color other than their own
    • The Skannerz Commander will not battle the colored skannerz, only other Skannerz Commanders.
  • How do I battle against another unit?
    • Go down to "VS." in the main menu and then hit the "A" button. At this time the unit will say "Link". Connect the two units.
    • Only one unit will be able to select monsters at a time. The second unit can only select monsters after the first player has completed his selection.
    • Once the monsters have been selected the battle begins. Your monster will show on the screen when it is your turn to make a move.
    • Do not separate the units during a battle. This can cause monsters to be lost the game to lock up.
  • How do I change the batteries without losing any of the collected data?
    • If you change batteries within 30 seconds, you will not lose your monsters.
    • Make sure the unit goes into sleep mode before attempting to change the batteries.
    • Remove and replace one battery at a time, but replace both batteries before playing again.
  • How do I enter the player's name?
    • Use the directional pad to toggle through the alphabet. Press the "A" button to enter the letter.
    • The unit only holds five letters.
    • If their name is shorter than five letters press the "A" button until the unit reads "Ready to Scan".
